CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI)

 Kishugu Aviation Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking to employ a Chief Flight Instructor (CFI)  in the Kishugu Aviation Group

Position reports to: HOD/Line Management

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate shall, as a minimum have –

  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric);
  • Min hours – 1500
  • Dangerous Goods and Crew Resource Management
  • Twin IF Rating
  • Moderator, Facilitator and Assessor

Key Performance Areas:

  • By own virtue and via the Instructors and Assistant Instructors for whom is responsible,
    positively influence the standard of certificate training and operational procedures in
    designated area
  • Instruct, examine and recommend candidates for the issue or renewal of Certificates,
    Rating and Endorsements, but only for the indorsements for which she is personally qualified
  • Provide adequate leadership and support to the Instructors and Assistant Instructors
  • Ensures that Instructors maintain the highest level of competency and currency, and
    conduct regular check flights to assess their continued suitability to conduct flight training
  • Ensures that the aircraft used for flight training are kept in a clean and airworthy state, and
    ensure that the same aircraft comply with the SACAA requirements, and are properly
    registered with SACAA, and have, where available, public liability insurance
  • Maintain accurate student pilot training records, and provide statistics regarding hours
    flown and training carried out, as and when requested
  • Enter details of endorsement and flight checks successfully carried out in the pilot’s logbook
    and forward a duly completed form to the SACAA
  • Make recommendations to the HOD regarding the standards of pilot training, and the
    safety of operations
  • Identify pilots who in her opinion are suitable to become instructors.
  • Encourage and mentor such pilots with a view to achieving an operational standard that will
    allow them to undertake an approved Instructor course

Appointment will be subject to a compulsory three-month probationary period with the promise of becoming a permanent position. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR – GRADE 2

Kishugu Aviation Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking to employ a Fight Instructor (Grade 2)  in the

Kishugu Aviation Group

 Position reports to: HOD/Line Management

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate shall, as a minimum have –

  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric);
  • Min hours – 650
  • Preferably Twin IF Rating
  • Moderator, Facilitator and Assessor

Key Performance Areas:

  • Control and co-ordination of all flight training conducted by the company.
  • Maintain a high standard of flight instruction.
  • Ensuring that all training files and related documentation are maintained for each student and instructor.
  • Making sure that all regulatory requirements regarding the renewal/and up-grade of pilot licences gas been timeously complied with.
  • Preparation, review and authorization of flight instruction – related quotes requested by prospective students.
  • Liaison with SACAA and other ATO’s to further enhancement of company training capability and procedures.
  • Ensure that lesson period are sufficient to allow for both pre-flight and post – flight debriefings
  • Ensure that detail of both briefings and flights are recorded in student files.
  • Ensure a model aircraft with moveable control surfaces is available in briefings.
  • Student and instructor relationships are sound.
  • Ensure students and instructors are familiar with all applicable legislation and directives.
  • Ensure all flying personnel are appropriately licensed and rated for all flights.
  • Ensure solo consolidation is monitored by a Grade 1 or 11 instructor with immediate access to VHF transceiver.
  • Ensure that NOTAM’s, AIC’s, TPM, Aircraft Manuals, Checklists, Authorisation sheets, and progress reports are available and kept in good order and up to date.
  • Ensure training files are kept for students.
  • Ensure all instructors and students are familiar with the flying training area.
  • Ensure all students are properly authorized before every flight.
  • Ensure that the aircraft used for flight training are kept in a clean and airworthy state and the same aircraft comply with the SACAA requirements and are properly registered with SACAA and where available public liability insurance.
