Huey Accident during Landing in Bredasdorp
Bredasdorp – One of Kishugu Aviation’s Huey’s, unfortunately was involved in an accident during landing on the Bredasdorp helipad at 14:00 today after a demonstration flight.
“We have very preliminary information on the helicopter accident. The pilot, Steven Mostert, has fortunately emerged unscathed. However, one of the groundcrew, Stevens Shagangu, did sustain injuries that necessitated for him to be taken to hospital in Tygerberg Hospital after being stabalised on the scene,” says Trevor Abrahams, Chairman of Kishugu Aviation.
“We remain committed to providing counselling support to those affected,” said CEO of Kishugu Aviation, Johan Heine.
The accident investigation, led by the South African Civil Aviation Authority, SACAA will commence tomorrow. Kishugu has also dispatched its internal investigation team led by Kishugu Aviation Chairman, Mr Trevor Abrahams to assist the CAA in its efforts.
“Safety is our top priority and we will do everything in our power to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and the people we serve,” Heine concluded.
