Working on Fire dispatched a Huey helicopter to a fire near Vermaaklikheid in the Riversdale
area. It is confirmed that the helicopter went down near the fire at approximately 09:45 on
Tuesday, October 23, 2018, while conducting fire-fighting operations.

The Emergency response team has been activated, and the family has been informed. The
South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has been notified.

The cause of the accident is not yet known. As information becomes available, it will be
communicated.
