“The best solution to aerial firefighting is a combination of Air Tractors and helicopters. Together they form a vital tool to the successful suppression of wildfires anywhere in the world,” says Hugo Arceo, International Sales Manager for Air Tractor Europe who recently visited Nelspruit to address key stakeholders in the forestry and firefighting community.
Hugo travelled to South Africa to attend the Wildfire Ready Convention at the Lourensford Estate in Somerset-West last week to deliver a keynote address to delegates. Prior to arriving in Cape Town, Hugo first travelled to Nelspruit where he presented a special presentation to key stakeholders of Kishugu Aviation at Zest Restaurant. Attendees of this exclusive presentation and dinner included local Fire Protection Associations (FPAs) and forestry companies such as SAPPI and SAFCOL.
“Our objective with this evening was to bring an international expert on aerial firefighting and present to our stakeholders the importance of aerial resources to their properties and associations,” says Emile Grobbelaar, acting CEO of Kishugu Aviation.
Hugo spoke about various disaster wildfires across Europe and how the Air Tractor was vital in the successful suppression of these fires. He further explained the versatility and the key factors which makes this one of the most successful firefighting aircraft in history.
